Life In Flux

Wednesday a good friend of mine asked me to respond to an old saying, "There will be difficulties in this world, but things don't have to always be difficult." Another way to put it is in the equally old phrase, "Tough times don't last, but tough people do." It caused me to think about how easy it is to become trapped by difficult circumstances even to the confining of the rest of our lives to that circumstance. This morning I came across the piano burn shoot that happened a few weeks ago at my dad's shop. As a result of four hours work, here is a visual representation of the converstation I had with my friend on Wednesday.

A Storm's a'Brewin'

A few weeks ago I photographed my friends' sons at their home here in Casper. The eldest is nearly three. It was a wonderfully warm day and he was the first to greet me. He was quite happy and chattered on about his day as he rode his trike up and down the driveway showing off his great speed. Then he pulled up right beside me and gave me a look that reminded me what a fleeting thing the good humor of a two year old can be...don't worry, no photographers were harmed during this filming.

Actually, he is a very sweet little boy, in case you were wondering.

The Music is on Fire!

This morning I woke up, drank some coffee, then photographed a set of burning pianos. Just another day for a photographer. An hour later I had singed my eyebrows here and there and burned through about one hundred frames. Here is one of my favorites from the shoot. I am excited to see what hot shots smoke their way to our eyes.

Come on in and pull up a chair!

Hi there!
Welcome to my blog. This is my first experience with writing to a global audience. Let's see how well this works. In previous months perhaps you have recieved my newsletter. As of today, I am saying good-bye to the newsletter and hello to this new and schnazzy (yes, I am certain that is the correct spelling) way of keeping in touch with all of you. I'll still send out a quick note to everyone on my contact list each month but it will be a bit smaller since this will be so much larger than the newsletter. Oh! You are not on my newsletter list? Let's remedy that. Join e-newsletter mailing list. I have never been the compulsive journaling type, but perhaps this will be a good way to pick up the habit. Let me know what you think! I am always glad to hear from you folks. Thanks!

God bless you,
Tess
